Staff News Letter Apr. 16-20

I hope you all had a fantastic week.
In place of our collaboration next week, we will have a second iPad training.  Please plan on brining your iPad and any questions you may have.  Because time will be limited, please plan on arriving early enough that we can start promptly at 8:00.

I have included a note that I would like you to copy and paste into your next newsletter regarding students who arrive at school too early.  There are times when we see students arrive up to 1½ hours early.  There aren’t a huge number of students arriving early, but enough to make it a challenge to be prepared for the day.  We would like students to arrive no earlier than 8:30.  Students who are in the building earlier than 8:15, we need to send them out to play, or, have them wait on the stage.  The exception would be if you would like to have them working in your classroom.

A note from the Principal
Dear Parents,

I would like to ask for your support in helping us address the issue of students arriving at school too early.  We ask that students not arrive earlier than 8:30 AM.  This allows for appropriate supervision for the students and ample time for teachers and staff to prepare for the day.  I would like to express my appreciation to you for your willingness to support us with this issue.

Sincerely,

Steve Burton
Principal, East Elementary
