Staff News Letter

I just wanted to express a special thanks to all those who donated to Sub For Santa and those of you who have been willing to help deliver gifts to your students.  I know it will be appreciated by the families who receive your help.
It has been a wonderful first half of the school year.  Thank you so much for all of your hard work so far this year.  I am constantly impressed by what all of you are able to do in your classes.  Our students are fortunate to have you.
One item of business.  If grade level chairs would please be sure to put a copy of your PLC agenda in the binder located on the table in my office after each PLC.
Have a fantastic break!  You deserve to have 2 weeks of fun.
Thought:  I have always looked up to Lou Holtz who passed away a while ago.  I was impressed with one of the commentators who, while speaking of Lou Holtz after his death, said something to the effect that a reputation is what people think of you.  Character is who we really are….  He went on to indicate that Lou Holtz had true character.  Food for thought.

Staff News Letter December 13-17

I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season so far.  It has been wonderful to see how so many of you have creatively integrated the holiday season into your curriculum.  The kids are learning and don’t even know it.  May you all be substantially bless with patience as your students increase in their excitement for Christmas.  I though about installing “Santa Cams” at various locations of the building so they would be aware that Santa was watching, but I ran out of money to pay for them.

Please remember that our Christmas Sing has been changed to Wednesday at 1:00.  Students need to be there as close to 1:00 as possible.  Also, just a reminder that we will not be having an AR assembly for the month of December.

I wanted to pass on a special thanks to all those who have donated to our Christmas fund so far.  I know it will go to a worthwhile cause.  Any kind of a donation would be appreciated.

Have a wonderful pre-vacation week.

Staff News Letter December 6-10

I hope you all had a wonderful week coming back off a nice Thanksgiving break.
Once again, I would like to thank all of those who have developed a blog or web page.  They look wonderful.  I am amazed at how creative so many of you are.  Just to give you an idea of the number of hits to our school web site: Monday – 209 hits, Tuesday – 158 hits, Wednesday- 281 hits, 185 hits so far today (Thursday), and 7351 total visits.

If you have additional students who are in need for Christmas, please send me the names and so I can add them to my list of students so I have them available when I am approached for names.  Also, just a reminder that Sherri has the envelope for staff donations.

If you look at the event calendar and it seems that each event is showing one day earlier than it really is, you’re right.  Google has a problem with embedded calendars right now.  I hope it will be resolved shortly.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Staff News Letter Nov. 22-23

If you get a chance, please congratulate Sarah Sun on winning 1st place in the District Math Challenge.  All of our students did a wonderful job.

As you prepare names for your Catch the Vision awards, if you would please be sure that you are the one selecting the names and not having a class vote on who should receive the award.

I wanted to express my appreciation to all of you who have taken the initiative to develop your Blogs.  They look wonderful.  For those who have not yet developed one, we will be having a training next month on how to put one together.

 Have a fantastic weekend.

Staff News Letter Nov. 15-19

I hope you all had a wonderful week.  I’m sorry this is coming to you so late today.

Please note that Thanksgiving lunch will be Thursday.  Jerry has asked that staff members who would like to eat to please come through the line.  You can go to the front of the line, but if you would avoid going into the kitchen area it will help with the congestion that occurs there.

Thanks for all you do.  I feel grateful to be in such a wonderful school.  It is because of everyone contributing in such a meaningful way that we have a wonderful school.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

Staff News November 1-5

I hope you enjoyed your short week.  I wanted to pass on a special thanks to all those who helped with ESL Night last week.  We had over 100 people in attendance.  I think our ESL parents are feeling increasingly comfortable in our school and participating in your classes.  Thank you for reaching out to them.

Thank you for your “Shop With A Cop” names.  Now would be a good time to begin listing names of students who may need help during the holiday season.  I typically have groups willing to help a certain number of families.  It is nice for me to have a list of students ready when groups come by for names.   I will try to keep a master list of students in order to prevent duplicates.  If you would please forward the names of any students who might need help this Christmas season to me for the master list it would be wonderful.

Special note: Jeanette Blackner will be teaching a garbage can safety course every Wednesday at 3:00 PM.  This will be for all those interested in garbage day safety procedures.  I understand that she will call it GDFSM (Garbage Day For Struggling Moms).  Please sign up in Mrs. Blackner’s room.  Feel free to ask her how she qualified to teach this course to see if you to qualify also.

Thanks for all the wonderful work you do.  I feel we have the hardest working staff in the district.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Staff News Oct. 18-20

I hope you all had a wonderful week.

I wanted to pass on a special thanks to all those who have been waiting to excuse their class for the bell to ring at the end of the day.  The halls have been much better.

The District Data Fair will be held Oct. 26th from 3:30-5:00.  If you would please include this in your next news letter.  The data for our school is fantastic.  It shows how dedicated and able you are at what you do.  Before you continue reading, please stop and pat yourself on the back.  You could also give yourself a hug if you feel the need.  You could even hug someone else if you feel the need.  Bond with each other.

Thanks for all you do!
 Have a wonderful weekend!
