Faculty News Letter
Jan. 21-25

I hope everyone had a wonderful week and look forward to an
extended weekend.
On Tuesday of next week the School Board will recognize our
school, along with 3 other Title I schools, for being a High Performing Title I
school. You are all invited to attend
that portion of the meeting. The meeting
will begin at 4:00 PM.
If you have parents or people in the community ask you
questions regarding enrollment for next year’s dual immersion classes, please
let them know that enrollment forms will be available the first week of
February. We will also have a parent
meeting Feb. 13th at 5:30 to share information about the program.
Thank you so much for regularly holding your PLCs. In our last principal’s training, it was
emphasized that grade levels should look to establish the same objectives at
the same time during the year. The
presentation of the lesson could definitely be different, but the book we are
studying, suggests that grade levels should be covering the same material at
approximately the same time and have the same objectives. For the segment of students who fall behind,
that is where plans can be developed in the PLC to help intervene. I know many of you are already doing this,
but if not, I would encourage you to work toward aligning more thoroughly.
I hope many of you have taken advantage of the NBC Learn web
site. It looks like it could save quite
a bit of time searching the Internet. It
is an impressive program.
I am excited to now have the mother of all projectors mounted
in the gym. It will now be an incredible
technological oasis for programs and for East Elementary cinema extravaganzas. It just gives me goose bumps all over.
Thought: Everyone is better looking when they are
smiling. Joe Harsel
Have a fantastic break.
