I would like to express appreciation to all those who helped with the Science Fair.  Jennifer and her committee did a fantastic job organizing things in a way that everything flowed exceptionally well.  We had a wonderful turnout last night of parents and their children and the projects were wonderful.  Thank you for encouraging your students to do projects.

I am looking for anyone that would like to step in and kiss the pig for me today.  If you feel an overwhelming desire, I would gladly allow you the opportunity.  What about the Swine Flu?

I wanted to thank all those who have helped support what we are doing in the lunchroom.  It has been kind of fun trying different methods to improve lunchroom behavior, even with the organized chaos it has caused some days.  I think we are getting closer to having the kinks ironed out.  Please feel free to join us in the lunchroom if you would like a truly exhilarating experience.  I might even let you run the Class Dojo app for a few minutes.

Remember that with SAGE testing beginning this week the computer labs will be tied up several days during the week.

Please remind your parents in your next newsletter that Kindergarten registration will take place this upcoming Tuesday from 12:00-3:00.

Jeff has asked that if you have any kind of spill, please let him know and he would be happy to get it cleaned up before it stains.

I wanted to thank all those that have pitched in to help in the library while Holly has been gone.  It has been wonderful to see how everyone has been willing to pitch in.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.  Thanks for all you do!

I wanted to thank everyone for encouraging students to participate in the Science Fair.  We currently have over 200 students signed up to participate!  I am excited to see the projects and collections.  A special thanks to Jennifer and her committee for putting everything together.  It has been fun to see how the Science Fair has evolved over the years.  Along with the Science Fair, please remember that we will be hanging the art projects on the wall as well.

Thank you for your patience as we have continued to work to refine our techno lunchroom system.  I am looking to see if we can find someone to donate a Jumbotron for our lunchroom.  We could become the first elementary school in Utah with a Jumbotron.

Once again, thank you for all the wonderful things you all do!

I want to thank all of you for your extra time and hard work that went along with SEP week.  I know how long SEP weeks are, so thank you so much.  Along with the SEP Week, I will be sending out a Google Doc to collect all of the survey information collected from our 3-5th grades.  I will be sending out information today for grades 3-5 on how to take the student surveys in the computer lab via the link on our web page.

I received a lot of positive feedback this week from parents that were extremely happy with what they have seen at East Elementary.  Thanks for doing what you do.

As I have mentioned to several of you, I am excited to unveil the Lunch Room Technology Extravaganza Management System.  It just gives me goose bumps.  We will be using the Class Dojo app to project points earned on the wall of the cafeteria.  It may take a little time to work through the bugs, but each class will be able to earn or loose points based on lunchroom behavior.  At the end of each month, classes who earn an average of 3 points a day will earn 10 to 15 minutes of extra recess.  I am still working out the points required.
